Between April and September 2017, David McClymont (Melbourne) and Peter Loveday (Barcelona) collaborated remotely on this collection of songs. Though the two were separated by distance, the process was straightforward: McClymont sent backing tracks to Loveday, who worked on lyric and vocal ideas. The tracks were then reworked until both were happy with the final arrangements.

McClymont and Loveday met in London in the early 1980s and have previously collaborated musically just once, on McClymont's A–Z project, in 2014.

McClymont was a founding member of Scottish band Orange Juice. He has since released two CDs with the Scottish musician/performer Momus and a steady stream of independent electronic recordings.

Loveday was active in a number of bands in the early Brisbane post-punk scene, such as The Supports and Birds of Tin, followed by Tiny Town, based in London in the '80s. He continues to record and perform in his home town, Barcelona.
